Lydia Gayle
Vice Principal - Outcomes and Experience
Lydia has been teaching in Bradford since 2012 and is passionate about supporting the young people of the City. Lydia joined Dixons McMillan in 2019 as Head of English, having previously spent 7 years at Dixons Kings Academy, where she was a Principal Teacher of English. She works tirelessly to secure outstanding outcomes for all by building positive relationships across the Academy community. Lydia has worked with the Oak National Academy, planning and recording video lessons which were accessed nationwide to support remote learning during the first Covid-19 Lockdown.
Lydia graduated from Cambridge University, with a first-class degree in English literature. She continues to celebrate her love of the subject by teaching the next generation of literary critics.
Lydia has demonstrated the willingness to do whatever it takes to ensure that those around her are empowered for success. Lydia has moved from her previous role of Associate Senior Leader to Assistant Vice Principal, first for behaviour in 2021-22, quality of education across 2022-24, and outcomes and experience since 2024-25. She is eager to promote the three-way partnership between staff, students and families. Lydia was appointed as Vice Principal in December 2024.
