Cycle 1 Employability Day
Posted 3rd December 2024
Ensuring our students are ready for what comes after secondary school is a key part of what we do at Dixons McMillan. As well as providing the necessary support, it also ensures that students know what they need to do in order to reach the summit of their mountains - whether that is through receiving amazing qualifications or developing their own personal attributes to be highly employable. Our triannual Employability Days held to put students in touch with employers, colleges and universities.
Our focus this cycle was on Careers in the Curriculum. Students in Key Stage 3 completed a day of workshops looking at developing themselves as individuals who would be exactly that employers are looking for in their recruitment processes. Students in Key Stage 4 heard from a number of different providers, and had the opportunity to visit our Careers Fair in the Sports Hall.
A big thank you to all the providers who came to visit Dixons McMillan and spoke to our students, including:
Bradford College, Bradford City Community Foundation, Bradford Teaching Hospitals, Craven College, Dixons Allerton Academy, Dixons Teacher Training, Dixons Sixth Form Academy, Greenhead College, Keighley College, Leeds Arts University, MPCT Bradford, New College Bradford, West Yorkshire Fire Service, the University of Leeds, Skills for Work, Yorkshire Learning Providers, the University of Bradford, Young Dynamos, Shipley College, the University of Bolton, Kirklees College, the Royal Air Force, and the University of Cambridge.
