Final DofE expeditions for the Class of 2028
Posted 16th July 2024
All students at Dixons McMillan Academy have a timetabled lesson every single week where they are taught key skills to prepare them for undertaking the Duke of Edinburgh Award at Bronze level, whilst also partaking in the other strands of physical activity and volunteering.
This week marked our final expedition for the Class of 2028, who set off on Monday from the academy and returned on Tuesday after two days of hiking and a night under canvas. All students had a fantastic time and as is becoming tradition, a lot of chess was played at the campsite and at checkpoints in some lovely and beautiful locations in the Yorkshire countryside.
