Remembering Srebrenica Exhibition 2023-24

Posted 5th October 2023

To follow up on the amazing work done by our students in the run up to Srebrenica Memorial Day in July 2023, students have been working with Bradford Council's Speak Out! team to learn more about the socio-political circumstances behind the Bosnian War of the 1990s and the Srebrenica Massacre of 1995.

Students spent a full day off timetable with a representative from Speak Out! and focused on the history of the conflict and genocide, along with considering how people can continue to work together to stop genocide taking place in the future. They also worked on the speaking and listening skills.

Over the last couple of weeks, students have been presenting the exhibition to advisory groups in Year 10 and Year 11 to ensure that there is a greater awareness of these atrocities and so that the next generation can really all start to think and work together to stop genocide happening again.

You can find out more about the Remembering Srebrenica charity, whose work goes on up and down the United Kingdom and features testimonials from His Majesty the King, here.
